Professional profile

My background in user-facing technical support taught me how to isolate problems, communicate clearly, document solutions, and stay focused on the person affected by the technology. My current degree work and independent labs are helping me build deeper knowledge of networks, operating systems, infrastructure, and systems analysis.

Career Goal

Build deep expertise in networking and infrastructure

My career goal is to move from technical support into networking and systems administration, then continue developing toward advanced infrastructure and industrial IT environments.

I want to combine strong troubleshooting habits with deeper knowledge of network architecture, operating systems, automation, and security fundamentals. The goal is not simply to earn credentials, but to build practical skills that allow me to understand how systems work, diagnose failures, and design reliable solutions.

Long-Term Goals

Where I want this foundation to lead

My long-range goals focus on technical depth, responsibility, and the ability to solve increasingly complex infrastructure problems.

01

Advanced infrastructure expertise

Develop strong, real-world capability across routing, switching, server administration, Linux, virtualization, automation, and infrastructure security.

02

Industrial networking

Build toward roles involving operational technology, industrial networking, SCADA-supporting infrastructure, and other high-reliability environments.

03

Technical leadership

Grow into work where I can design solutions, improve processes, mentor others, and eventually build or lead independent technical services and products.

Current Skills & Experience

A growing technical toolkit

These skills combine professional support experience, academic study, independent practice, and home-lab exposure.

Networking Fundamentals

TCP/IP, addressing, routing and switching concepts, network troubleshooting, and structured Network+ study.

Technical Support

User support, application troubleshooting, hardware and software problem solving, documentation, and customer communication.

Systems & Virtualization

Hands-on lab exposure with Windows, Linux, Windows Server, Proxmox, pfSense, and virtualized test environments.

Security Foundations

Associate-level IT security education plus lab experience with Security Onion, Kali Linux, and defensive monitoring concepts.

Automation & Scripting

Developing practical Python and command-line skills for networking, systems administration, and repeatable technical workflows.

Systems Analysis

Use cases, domain modeling, requirements analysis, business systems, and translating real-world processes into structured designs.

Home-lab exposure

Proxmox, Windows Server 2019, Windows, Ubuntu, Kali Linux, pfSense, Security Onion, Splunk/ELK, and intentionally vulnerable practice environments. These are lab environments used for learning and experimentation rather than claims of production-administration experience.

Short-Term Goals

Turning the career goal into concrete steps

Complete my B.S. degree

Finish my remaining Information Systems Technology coursework and graduate from FSCJ.

Prepare for CompTIA Network+

Use structured video study, practice questions, flashcards, and hands-on networking exercises to build a strong foundation.

Continue to Security+ and CCNA

Add security fundamentals and deeper Cisco networking knowledge after establishing the Network+ baseline.

Expand practical labs

Keep building with Windows, Linux, virtualization, networking, scripting, and troubleshooting exercises that connect theory to real systems.

Artifacts

Selected academic work

These excerpts highlight systems analysis, technical modeling, research, and communication. Each selection includes a short reflection on the abilities demonstrated.

Acme Electric — Use Case Analysis

A requirements-analysis project that translated an electrical contractor's business process into brief and fully dressed use cases.

Portfolio excerpt — “Create a Job”

Triggering event

The owner receives a written request for proposal or a verbal description of requested electrical work and begins preparing a proposal.

Actors

Primary actor: Owner. Supporting actor: Customer.

Precondition

A customer request for electrical work has been received.

Postcondition

A new job is recorded in the proposed state so it can move through the business workflow.

Reflection: This project required me to take a narrative business problem, identify actors and system responsibilities, and organize the requirements into a form that could guide later system design.

Acme Electric — Domain Model Class Diagram

A domain model that identified the major business objects, their attributes, and the relationships needed for a job-management application.

Model rules: The diagram used multiplicities to express relationships such as one customer requesting multiple jobs, a scheduled job requiring a crew, and job-specific material lists being associated with the work they support.

Reflection: The most important part of this assignment was deciding what belonged inside the system boundary and what did not. It reinforced how clear models reduce ambiguity before implementation begins.
